For individual spiritual companioning, we meet at a place that is mutually agreeable or meet via Zoom or FaceTime. At the first meeting, we determine if there is a “fit” between us. It is an opportunity to get acquainted and to interview each other.
Meetings typically last about one hour and occur monthly. A typical session might look like this: We start with some silence, followed by an invitation to share what is happening in your life and heart. My role is to listen as deeply as I can and reflect to you what I hear, asking questions that have no right or wrong answer, intended only to invite you to go deeper. I seek to be a mirror for you. We close with another moment of silence.
There is no charge for the initial meeting. After that first meeting, there is an opportunity to contribute an honorarium for my service by donating to a charity of my choosing, but no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Your identity and the content of our conversations are confidential. I adhere to the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct of Spiritual Directors International, of which I am a member.
